The one at the train depot in Vienna is broken and no repair seems imminent. Just curious if I’m missing any others. I always forget a water bottle when commuting, but wouldn’t mind stopping for a sip of water somewhere.
There’s one hidden in the trees at Sunset Hills in Reston. It’s on the NW corner of that intersection, here.
There’s also one at the shelter at Old Reston Ave, IIRC.
Also, there’s one in the little park at Maple/W&OD (Vienna Town Green), which is on the NW corner of the intersection. If you’re headed west, you actually pass right by that fountain before you hit the train depot.

The last few times I’ve dropped into Spokes to use their water fountain. It’s connected to a cooler, which is rather nice.

I saw someone filling a bottle yesterday there. Did it just break today? (I assume you know that you do have to wait a number of seconds before water starts. It is also possible that only the bottom — the dog bowl spout — works; that’s the only one I use for bottles anyway.)

I haven’t looked at it up close, but it was covered with a black plastic bag for weeks (months?).

ParticipantThere are at least 2 in the Vienna area. The one you mentioned, and another one nearby, see the center of the picture at this link(Zoom out to see the area clearly).
The one at the intersection of W&OD and Sunset Hill RD in Reston; which TwoWheelsDC mentioned, is now working. It was broken long time ago. More water fountains locations on the W&OD can be found at this link:

At the bottom left of each map there is a link to the legend.
Personally, I take this detour to Giant in the area(which allows me to avoid the traffic at the intersection of W&OD and Park ST), but it would add more minutes to your commute.

…I rode by that fountain every day for half a decade and never knew it was there. :p

ParticipantOh, I am talking about the fountain at the intersection of W&OD and Maple, so maybe not the same one. Anyway, the one I am talking about works / has water (just checked).

Thanks. I had no idea that one in the picture existed–it’s hidden in plain sight. It’s the perfect place to sip water while waiting endlessly for the walk signal to change.
And who hid the one at Sunset Hills in the woods? I think there used to be one on the back of the building in the late 80s/early 90s that I used as a kid.
