I’ve been advised to clean my brake rotors and rims (on the bike w/ rim brakes) with isopropyl alcohol.

Does any ol’ rubbing alcohol I can pick up at CVS (or similar store) qualify as isopropyl alcohol for bike maintenance?

    Yes.

You can also use [automotive] brake cleaner if you’re opposed to shopping at drug stores for bike maintenance. (I would pick up some nail polish in your frame color while there and stock up on Ensure for your next epic ride!)

Ha! Just went to CVS on Monday with Dave where I made him buy me some lovely black nail polish. He was perplexed since I never do do my nails until he realized it was touch up paint for the Viaje.

I for one am looking forward to the debut of Goth Cyndi.

    Thanks everyone!

Maybe I’ll pick up hot pink nail polish. Then every time the Renegade is damaged it gets a touch more hot pink.

The one downside of replacing the damaged pink Lizard Skins tape on my Breezer with the Fizik was, well losing the pink. Granted, I prefer the superior grip of the Fizik, especially in rain, but still…
