Anacostia Riverwalk Trail

Seems like progress on the two multi-path bridges under construction along both sides of the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail (just south of Kingman Island near where the CSX tracks cross the river) has stalled. I rode the Anacostia east-west trail loop between the Douglas (S. Capitol) and Young (E. Capitol) bridges on Friday and was surprised to see no work whatsoever going on around 1 PM. Also, not much if any bike traffic at all. I ride from the Pentagon to do that loop and back at least 3-4 times a month and have never had any problems riding through there. Check it out, it’s an historic loop with some good views.

I wouldn’t say the work has stalled. On the west side, the bridge is finished and on the east I see work moving forward.
