ParticipantThis is a really nice ride. It’s very flat, there’s lots of Amish stuff (buggies!) and pie. I’m signed up. Anyone else doing this?

ParticipantI just ordered a trike and am hoping to do this ride provided the trike arrives in time. Fingers crossed. Have never done this ride. Not sure my wrist will be healed sufficiently to ride my road bike but maybe…
I was rather surprised to learn that there are Amish in Delaware. Who knew?!

ParticipantThis looks like a really nice ride, but I’m already signed up for the civil war century also on the 10th. Between the two I think I’d rather ride this one.

ParticipantI’m leading a trike group on this ride. I’ve never done the ride before. Any advice on a good place I can have everyone meet me? How well stocked are the pit stops? Many thanks.

There’s a big square at the start where the entertainment, registration and food stuff is set up. It wasn’t very crowded here last year. I’d recommend maybe meeting in the little parking lot on Legislative Avenue in front of the Legislative Hall State Capitol building. Since you’re all on trikes, it should be easy spotting.
The pit stops are well stocked with the typical bike ride fare of PBJ, bananas and food bars. One of the stops has pie. Last year the first stop was around the 26 mile mark, so I’d recommend eating breakfast and also bringing a snack that will get you to the first stop. (I try to make sure to eat something small for every 60 minutes on the bike.) It’s going to be hot with high humidity so you might want to consider an extra water bottle.

Thanks so much for the advice. I will pass it on to the other trikers. If you see me/us, be sure to wave and say hello. We certainly won’t be as fast as the two wheelers but will be quite comfortable in our rolling lawn chairs.

ParticipantDefinitely will say hello if we see you. I wish I had a recumbent for this ride. Komorebi and I are suffering some sore tush from Indian Head still. It is ridiculously flat so you won’t be at too much of a disadvantage on speed.
Depending on route recording device, the century route has only 200 too 600 feet of elevation gain over 100 miles:
