I have raced in small boats on the ocean and been wet for days. I have not learned to love it. I am weak and my (late) mother dresses me funny.

Ontopic – I will shamelessly plug my carbon drive bike with internal gear hub muwhahahahahhahhahaahhahahaha
+1 for the carbon belt drive and internal gear hub. Practically maintenance free and it does great in the rain and snow.

Every time I’m at REI I end up looking at Novara’s Gotham Bike for that very reason. It’s close to everything I’d want in a commuter bike. They dropped the dyno hub from previous model years. I’m not sure how long I could resist if they brought that back and figured out how to incorporate an effective integrated lock.

Might be worth taking a look at the Breezer Beltway Elite.

Have you written up a review yet?

That’s why I don’t usually bother with rain gear — I’m going to get wet with sweat under the rainwear if I wear it or wet directly if I don’t, so wet either way.

My wife has one of these. It’s a great bike…but heavy and definitely more of a short distance city bike IMO.

Just had breakfast and went for a little walk up a hill in Scottsdale, AZ. Now this is cycling weather!

ParticipantI think you either enjoy cycling in the rain or you don’t. I happen to like it. Get the best rain gear you can afford and go for it. Nothing sorts it out quite like experience.

I have Raleigh Misceo 4.0 with the 11 speed IGH. I ended up getting a super deal on it from my (used to be) local shop in Lynchburg, VA, which made it about $400 cheaper than the Breezer. And I can not praise that bike enough. It is AWESOME.

Nice looking bike, BUT… what ham-fisted numbskull installed those fenders? The curve is so far off from the curve of the tire and the wheel. You’d think for an official sales photo shoot, they’d make sure that that aesthetic detail was taken care of. Maybe I’m just OCD about the curve on fenders, but that just screams out to me.
