Coming off the Trollheim I encountered a large downed tree that blocked the MVT from the Parkway wall over to the flooded river bank. As I dismounted I saw three riders coming towards the obstruction, the back rider suddenly did an endo flip over his handlebars landing partially on the trail. Lots of blood and bruising, but he seemed coherent and said he would see the nurse at his workplace.

Then on the Custis between the Nash and Oak St stoplights a rider almost went down when his wheel entered the seam in the middle of the sidewalk and stuck for a second. He made a good recovery, but that stretch is getting dangerous. Please turn the Potomac side lane of Lee Highway (of the three!) into a protected bike lane

Ugh. I had to turn around at the downed tree and take Memorial Bridge.

PLEASE write Trails@arlingtonva.us about the seam. I’ve written about it and they basically don’t believe it’s a problem.
