I’m coming to see you. I need more tires than the Bibendum dude. Something cheap and slick for the trainer and I think I’ve gotten as much fun out of the mtb bike as I can for the season so I’d like to put some snow tires on him so I can escape the house during the dark times known as “Snow Days” when the kids are unexpectedly home.

Hi Jan. I’m the guy who came by Sunday and said you should come here and say hi. Glad you did.

    Hey, the Skins won too!

Jan – I know your big grand opening is tomorrow but I’m dropping by today for snow tires.

I also want to ask about your Tuesday night rides.

And just to remind folks, Bikenetic is located within sight of the W&OD:

What Jan told me tonight is that he leads a mountain bike ride at Wakefield on Tuesdays, it’s no drop but not a social ride. The time, I don’t know, I’m sure someone else here on the forum does. It sounds like a lot fun.

Their website shows a Tuesday 6:30 pm MTB ride at Wakefield.

I stopped by there on Friday after work just to look around. I talked with Jan about a couple of issues and he was very helpful.

    Here I am again!

First off, thanks to everyone who made it out for the Grand Opening – what a great turnout! That was a lot of fun and it was so nice to meet so many people happy to see that I was here…just great!

So, the Tuesday Night Ride: I’ve been leading this ride for years out of the Audrey Moore Rec Center parking lot. We meet by the recycling bin area at 6:30pm and head out for the ride at 6:45pm.

This ride is co-sponsored through MORE and has traditionally been a very “casual” ride (frequent stops, slower speeds and shorter distances 6-10 miles). In an attempt to challenge some of the regulars of this ride (and myself), I am upping the ride I lead to a “moderate” one (less stopping, brisker pace, longer rides 10-14 miles). Often however, there are other ride leaders who will step up and lead a “casual” ride and/or a “fast” ride.

These days the ride requires high-powered lights and is limited only to Wakefield park. Lights are not allowed on the Cross-County-Trail or on the Singletrack Trails in Accotink Park. During the summer, we will ride from Wakefield to Accotink back to Wakefield via the CCT.

If anyone has any other specific questions, please post here or for a more immediate response, email jan at bikenetic dot com.

Thanks again all, for the support!
