    For anyone riding up and down the W&OD or who lives in Falls Church, a new bike shop is opening.

    I received an invite to an open house that I’m passing along.

    Time: November 18, 2011 all day
    Location: Bikenetic
    Street: 922 West Broad St.
    City/Town: Falls Church, VA 22046

    They also have a web presence: bikenetic.com

    This will be a terrific addition to the biking community.

    I was wondering about this place. The Lady saw it last week and mentioned it to me, and I saw them messing with their window display last night. It’ll be nice to have a new local place now that Bike Club has been closed for fire code violations. or so i hear.

    I’m surprised Bike Club got closed for fire violations before: A) possible breeding ground for the Hanta Virus; B) public intoxication without sharing; C) being too cool for life.

    I like that they call it ‘seasonal renovation’ like they do it every year. I don’t think that place has changed at all in the past four years I’ve been aware of it.

    Jan has been active in the local MTB community for a long time. He’s a good guy.

    Glad to hear Jan is good people. From what I know of the bicycle biz, most folks aren’t in it for the huge sums of cash ;) so I figured he was pretty committed. Looking forward to crashing the open house!

    Thanks for sharing. I saw it a couple of days ago on my way home and am so excited! Finally a bike shop walking distance from my house. Actually, that may not be a good thing ; )

    I plan on stopping by on my way home on Friday to check out the grand opening.

    Stopped by on Friday evening and I have to say Jan is just terrific, friendly and well versed in everything related to bikes. I was able to purchase a small U-lock, a cute pair of pink socks, and a trainer. Jan worked with me for half an hour putting it together and making sure I knew how to set it up in my home. Bikenetic has terrific customer service.

    Nice to see you there last night, acc. :D Jan is awesome! I got pink mountain bike grips, pink socks and pink arm warmers. They were sooooooo cute! I also delivered beverage to promote festivities.

    Hey everyone! My ears were burning :)

    First time here on Bike Arlington actually. I’ve been active on several of the other forums, but eventually lost the time to stay current. In any case, I came across this thread on the web and many customers have referenced it while making a visit to the new shop!

    Thanks so much for the original post and especially for the kind words from those of you who know me from some of the other shops I’ve run in the past. I look forward to exceeding (well, meeting) expectations in my new location ;)

    We’ll be having an official Grand Opening this Saturday, December 3rd, starting at 10am for those of you who can show your support and come by for yet another special occasion. Hope to see the “regulars” and some new faces, if possible!

    Oh man… now we have to stop saying nice things about Jan. ;)

    But seriously…. I’ll see you tomorrow Jan. I’m gonna stop by and buy stuff. :D The bike build is starting.
