The Strava leaderboard only shows people who have ridden this week, beginning Monday. The two who aren’t showing up are still on the team, but haven’t ridden yet this week. In other words, get out there and ride, you two!

Honestly, I don’t care, as long as it’s not offensive to someone on the team. It seems that “Snot Rockets” and anything dog (or dawg, because duh) related falls into the latter category. For those team members who are new to the forum, I wanted to let you know that forum members meet for coffee at a number of places throughout the week. There is a thread on the forum listing them all, which I will find. However, for now, know that a group meets at what was the Java Shack in Clarendon on Fridays from around 7:15 to sometime after 8:00 (I don’t know when it ends because I leave as soon as Steve O shows up). Another group (sometimes people who go to Java Shack) also meet on Friday’s at Swiggs near G St & 17th St. If you can, please stop by because these are a great way to meet others and have some good coffee.

I highly recommend Hump Day Coffee Club that meets at Best Buns in Shirlington on Wednesdays. Great group and the bacon cheddar scones that are only available that day are incredible. Plus, as far as I know, Steve O never goes to the coffee club, so it is win-win-win.

I have never seen Frozen, never intend to, and do not want to have anything to do with it. On the other hand, I’d be all for a Lego Movie reference because:

Ok picture this. We’re all on a group ride, and someone yells, ‘Team Snot Rocket, assemble!’ We all get together, Saturn-class snot rockets on deck, then on the count of three we all launch them (in a well-aimed, predetermined direction), and then blast off to rack up more sick points for our team.

Now I ask you, what part of that is even remotely offensive???

But yeah, it doesn’t have to be our team name. Maybe more like a theme, or a team cheer?

Right now I’m liking Team “They who must not be named” or just Death Eaters. Or, wait, no, Team Dementor, or Team My Patronus is a Bike!

I never said I was offended by snot rockets… just that I really didn’t like the name.

I think there’s been a dozen better names suggested, but if there’s consensus on SR from others, I’m not going to lose any sleep if that winds up being our name.

On the upside, it seems we’ve been keeping RCannon and Steve O here egging us on instead of going out and racking up miles, so we might as well keep squabbling.

Or we could meet in secret, decide on a name, and then refuse to tell anyone else what it is, especially not certain lurkers.
