Welcome folks! It was good to meet (most) everybody at BAFSHH last night!!!!

EDIT: Here’s a list of Team 5’s members:

    HEART: Team Five
    Harry Meatmotor
    dkel
    sjclaeys (captain?)
    W^3
    Boomer2U
    colleen
    m.niets
    Alcova Cyclist
    dasgeh
    hodgesse

First things first – I’m by no means volunteering to be team captain by posting this! I’m a total Strava newb and have to manually enter my miles. I’m a troglodytic luddite when it comes to GPS-enabled bike adventures. (but I’m getting better…)

I believe Boomer snapped a pic of the Heart team in attendance at the happy hour – feel free to post it up here.

I guess the first thing would be for us to decide on a team name? Or pick a Captain (Oh captain)?

Hey team, Steve O is talking about us in the bollard busters’ thread…

Easy to remedy. Step 1, dislike his post. Step 2, ride more.

Step 2 is easier said than done with the MVT and WOD covered in a sheet of bumpy ice. But I am working on an alternate route to work – tomorrow I am going on an adventure!

I have to be honest, team: I’ve been wondering the same thing lately. Last week we were the second-lowest scoring team (not counting the slackers). We are not so far behind that we couldn’t move back up into fifth place easily. If we want to go further than that, it will require redoubling our efforts. Or are we just giving up?

On the other hand, I got to be on the strava “last week’s leaders” board — two weeks in a row! (Seriously though, that’s not a good thing.)

Weather is turning… just a few more days of cold and then mid-40’s next week. Let’s go get ’em!

(Don’t look now, but as of 9:04, we’re only 9 points back from the prim3s)

Just moved to 6th… 23 points to 5th.

(of course the mornings are a bit silly as riders log their various commutes)

It doesn’t help when one of your longest riders goes on travel :-(

Really, though, we need Bill and Erin to ride a mile every day. A sleaze ride only takes 10 minutes. Otherwise, we’ve got to make up 11 points between the other 8 of us, and I just don’t have a lot of extra time laying around. Sorry.

+1 on all of this. Freezing Saddles was designed as a commuting challenge, which means consistency is rewarded above overall mileage. If you’re not a cycle-commuter, you can do the sleaze rides quite easily, and still rack up points like a commuter. If you approach it like a recreational rider, you’ll lose out on most of the points (we’ll lose out on most of the points).

Don’t look at me, man. I’m Mr. Consistency.

    Mostly.

    fighting a sinus infection!

in the mean time, remind me who’s #2 overall on individual average speed?

I’m sure I can take #1 back by the end of the competition.

There are no points for speed!

    Sorry about the sinuses, though.
