I think I saw a record number of cyclists out yesterday, including a ton of CaBi users.

ParticipantI just accept that Gravelly Point will be crowded on warm-weather weekends. I know I won’t be able to ride faster than 5 mph until I get past the plane viewing area, so I go with the flow, er, you know what I mean.
The trail bypass will be nice. But even nicer would be a bike connection between Long Bridge Park and the MVT, next to Long Bridge. There are vague plans about adding the connector, but I don’t think it will be built before at least 2016, if ever.
I think it’s good to see all of the cyclists, runners and walkers out there. I just wish that everyone would be more considerate of other users. I’ll probably have to start another annual thread about passing on the trail while there is oncoming bike traffic on the other side of the yellow line. Some people pass and cross the yellow line, forcing oncoming traffic to veer away to avoid a collision or near-miss. Most people don’t do this, but some do.

Is/Will this be available as a podcast? WAMU’s site does not appear to offer it as a recording (either that or they offer it in Windows Media Player format only, and my Mac’s browser won’t play it – I’m not sure which).

Not working. I suspect it has something to do with it being Windows Media Player, and I’ve got a Mac.

It’s an MP3, someone must have screwed up the link on the page. Here’s a direct link to the file from the podcast:

How about a literal post on the trail? Part of me wants to try to fund a how to run/walk/ride on a MUP. Common items will be the notion of multi-use implying sharing, sides of a path being cross directional, and when in doubt, pick the safest option.
