At 3:00 a.m., I did not see or encounter any ice. Pavement was wet in some places, but was dry in most places. The trail around the Pentagon was fine. All the bridges (over 110, the Boundary Channel, GW Parkway, and Memorial Bridge) were fine. All the roads I encountered were salted.

The temperature had been holding steady at 32 degrees, but I notice it is now 33 degrees. Even if the temperature drops, things should be okay.

I still think I’ll use the studded ride tomorrow b/c what’s left will freeze tonight.

From the reports I saw supposed to be a low of 36 tonight, so prolly no re-freeze

If you need peer pressure, I’ll be doing the day care pickup by bike this evening…I find that if I ride with enough speed, I create a wind/rain fairing with my body and the baby girl hardly gets wet at all!

Rolling eyes. Mr. Kelley you are hardly a person of average size. Entire teams could draft behind you.

Sir, I just now saw you are off the bike, my sincere condolences. Get better fast. Of course you off the bike at the best possible time.

You were correct Mr. CCrew. No need for the studded tires this morning. It just served to slow me down, but still a fun ride.

Just got in from my usual commute. It’s good to go. Thanks for the info skreaminquadz.

I just rode home from Court House to West Falls Church (Custis to W&OD). It’s a ton better than this morning and most of the stuff that’s still on bridges is slushy. You’d be fine on a mountain bike and okay on a road bike if you don’t mind walking in a couple of areas.

I still think I’ll use the studded ride tomorrow b/c what’s left will freeze tonight.
