I thought chaos was the whole point.
Seriously, I would be willing to once again serve as Pointless Prize Potentate.

ParticipantI’m not much of a tech whiz, but I’d like to help with something. Although, based upon the initial long range forecast, I may be in AZ and HI for a good part of winter. Especially after what happened today.
I’d be great at hand picking my own Mont. Co. team! That would make things easier for Sunyata. I’m sure I could find some random number generator to pick the other teams.

You can best help by responding to all of the Nigerian scammers I sold your e-mail address to.

ParticipantI am willing to do team assignments this year with one caveat. Once assignments are done, they are done. I am not hunting folks down, I am not spending hours upon hours shuffling things around, and I am not coordinating substitutes.
We also need more people to volunteer to be a team captain to assist with those issues when they arise (because they always do).
If someone else wants to do all that, I am more than happy to pass the torch.
Also, suggestion for registration: Is there a way that folks have to verify their email before they are officially signed up?

Casey – I was planning on not being a team captain this year and just riding. That being the case, I’m happy to lend a hand with registration. And I’m willing to entertain the notion of taking it over completely … once you tell me what’s involved … over a beer(s).
I’m going to regret this, aren’t I???

Oh, I guess you didn’t hear. I got $5 million from one of those replies!! That’s why I plan on travelling more this year. Thanks for thinking of me when you gave them my email address.

At the least, I’ll be happy to be a team captain again.

I’d also be interested if you decide it’s too much or need help…I used to do something like this as a softball commissioner in Arlington.
I can also get the ball rolling for Happy Hour and hope W&W would be interested…she does an amazing job!

ParticipantI’m willing to help with team assignments. I would also consider being a team captain for a local team.

I’m working on a double opt-in system. So when you sign up, you agree to get e-mail from us–and then you get an e-mail you have to click on in order to verify your e-mail. Among other issues, I’m going to have to figure out whether there is a way to integrate the e-mail subscribers with the registrants, so we can easily kick out those who don’t confirm. However, at a minimum, you’ll have a list of unconfirmed e-mail subscribers you can use to do deletions from the list of registrants, so you don’t have to contact each one individually.

Can you two please just let me know who ends up in charge, so I can direct inquiries appropriately?

ParticipantHi all. I’d be happy to help organize the welcome happy hour and the end-of-season prize ceremony together with CBGanimal, but only if you don’t mind me abstaining from the team competition this year. Up to you…
While I’m sad about not participating on a team, I think it makes sense for two reasons:
–I do not currently have a standard commute, as I’m trying to create my own nonprofit sports-and-public health venture.
–My bicycle transportation miles are way down, but instead I’ve been doing lots of running with my daughters. This is great fun, but unfortunately it does not count toward FS mileage. At this point, I’d rather not have the incentive to bike more and run less.So if y’all are good with having a nomadic, unaffiliated rider doing the organizing, then I will readily join CBGanimal in this endeavor….it’s your call (and no hard feelings, either way).
Thanks,

ParticipantI volunteer as tribute … uh, team captain. The two main responsibilities seem to be (1) chasing people down and getting them signed up on Strava and (2) organizing team rides. Anything else?
