Damn! I procrastinated.
Okay, so I’m on the wait list and on the volunteer list if no spot opens up. I plan to go either way: riding, or cheerleader for all of you.

ParticipantI think I’ll likely drive down Thursday, and head back up Sunday or Monday.
If anyone is interested in sharing a house (Judd, TwoWheels, SteveO, anyone else registered…), let me know. I’m happy to do some research on airbnb. I can also take one more person + bike with me if someone needs a ride.
Sunyata–can you send me the approx location of where team bikenetic will be? I can see what else is available around that area. I did a quick scan of the emerald isle and it looks like there are still some 3-6 person houses available for under $150 a night.

I made a fully-refundable hotel reservation just in case, but would definitely share an Airbnb. And I will humbly submit my name for consideration to take the ride-down slot

What’s folks plans on getting down there? Does it possibly make sense to rent a big ol van?
This may be a good idea if we don’t have enough cars… Maybe a van for the bikes, and a car or two for people depending on what fits? I can fit 4 people if I dont need to fit all their bikes too. I’m happy to drive/not drive/help pay for van/etc.

ParticipantEmm – I’m down for sharing an AirBnB. I’ll research some van options. I was also thinking driving down Thursday and back Sunday or Monday.

ParticipantHi all… since I didn’t sign up for the ride…too late and still on the fence about doing something like this…I did ask if they still needed volunteers to support! That way I can see if maybe next year I’ll actually ride it.
That said I’d be interested in Air B&B and ride options. I can offer to drive 2 other people or go in on the Van option.
Looking forward to it!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

ParticipantAs mentioned, I’m going either way, riding or not. Chris, the email I got indicated there should be plenty of volunteer opp’s.
Count me in for shared lodging, van, expenses, etc. I do not have my own car, but can drive, rent or whatever is needed. I do have a bike rack.Sent from my 5049Z using Tapatalk

ParticipantAll right, I signed up to volunteer at the finish line area. I’d be interested in sharing an Airbnb. I can drive and take three other people plus two other bikes (or three bikes if someone else is bringing a 48cm Renegade that I could borrow for any necessary sleaze rides *cough*reji*cough*). I’m also happy to chip in for the van option.

Participantfxbooks, fxbooks’ mom and I are headed down on Thursday and leaving Monday. We’ve rented a house on the beach to entice mom to join us. 😎 I’m signed up for buck and fxbooks will be lounging on the beach. We’ve got a smallish car and have room in the rear seat for 2 people, but no extra room for bikes.

Thank you for the invitation, Emm. We’ll be taking advantage of being in NC to visit friends and visit some old stomping grounds. So, regrettably, I don’t think we’ll be able to join you all in the travel and lodging arrangements.

We will be off Craig Drive between Emerald and Ocean.

ParticipantFYI – If you are interested in volunteering, please let me or the race organizers know. I spoke with Gordon this morning and they could use a few more volunteers that know bike racing. There is swag and good food in it for you.

Casey…I sent an email to volunteer…they also said I’d be on the waitlist but really I’d like to volunteer more than race…although sad to say I know little about racing…

There is a remote chance I’ll be making a trip back to the US mid-March, so I would be a late volunteer (and looking for floor space/couch to surf?). If I do, that would also give me a chance to join the #BAFS2019 final night Hains Point extravaganza where we do not raise a toast of limoncello at midnight (that’s assume the partial government shutdown has been resolved).
