Hey ya’ll, I’m back again for more….it’s the 7th Annual Hains Point 100 on December 16th

Come join me, and lots more, down at Hains Point to raise awareness and funds for the Washington Area Bicycling Association’s Women & Bicycles program!

    Visit http://www.HainsPoint100.com to register!

I deeply believe that getting more women on bikes will make DC a better place for everyone. Doing a 3-mile loop gets a little boring so for 7 years now, I’ve asked DC cycling community to join me for music, food, door prizes, hand-ups, and more! I’m sure others will join in to regale us with their own HP100 adventures. :)

Everyone is invited of all riding abilities. You can ride as long – or as little – as you’d like!

Event is free, all I ask is you register and consider donating to WABA’s Women & Bicycle Program which you can do online or onsite (both options available at http://www.HainsPoint100.com).

**Please go to http://www.HainsPoint100.com for registration, schedule, FAQs, what to expect for the day.**

8:45 AM – Check in Opens (And Stays Open All Day)
9:30 AM – Welcome, Introductions, Hellos
10:00 AM – Group Photo, Ceremonial Roll Out/Lap
11:00 AM – First Door Prize Drawings
12:00 PM – Second Door Prize Drawings
1:00 PM – Third Door Prize Drawings
3:00 PM – Pit Area Closes

There is an extensive FAQ on http://www.HainsPoint100.com so be sure to check that out if planning on riding.

And, a thank you to the generous sponsors and supporters that will make the day even *more* fun!

It sends your credit card info directly to Alan’s e-mail address which I of course sold to multiple spammers last year.

I would like to affirm the general superiority of Pecan Pie.

The sign-up registration is done directly through WABA’s site so it goes straight to them. Not by me. It’s the same system they use for all their donations. I can ask re: encryption.

We will also accept donations onsite during the event*. There is a form on http://www.HainsPoint100.com to provide your info so we know you’re coming but want to donate on the 16th.

*To remain within NPS rules and permitting, I’ll state here for just in case purposes, there are no exchanges of goods or services when donations are accepted on site. Nothing is being sold as part of this event. :)

Thanks. I have renewed membership to WABA that way, so I guess it is fine.

    It’s this Sunday.
You, yes you, need to go (despite what LSG may be thinking).

You do realize that this year I paid in advance as opposed to at event. That means that the weather is going to be awful despite the current forecast which just says cloudy.

Now you’ve gone and jinxed it. New weather forecast is 50% chance of rain all day with temperatures in the mid-40s.

Glad you all got it done Sunday! I thought I’d head down (to buy the Freezing Saddles bands) Sunday early afternoon — but it was totally cleared out by the time I got there!
Then tonight, I attempted to take a HP lap on the commute home, and it was by far the most seriously flooded I’ve seen it so far. (Loop was closed, as was a stretch of Ohio, under the 14th St. Bridge, with perhaps 18 inches or more of standing water in the middle, based on the trash truck that drove through it anyway.)
