So is everyone who needs a ride accounted for?

I think so. I’m picking up Steve O and Kitty. Komorebi is driving LeprosyStudyGroup.

I’m here to coordinate another very important matter with all of you… Crystal Ride jersey or Waba jersey?

For me it’s always a game day call. Whichever jersey is on top of the “clean” pile is usually the one I put on.

You can have most of my share – I always bring too much, usually only grab a banana at rest stops and only nibble at the post ride free food buffet.

I can provide a ride for a rider and their bike if coming from the Greenbelt/College Park direction.

GOOD NEWS! I was able to pick up my replacement bike from the LBS yesterday. I’m going to take it for a moderate spin tomorrow to see how it gets along with my road wheels, but as of right now I actually have a bike to ride for this thing. :D

Just checked the weather. Thanks to Hermine stalling offshore: 15 mph from the NNW, gusting to the mid 20s. That direction is particularly challenging because it will be in our face at the end of the century. Going to be a challenging day!

All the best to everyone who participated in this event. I hope it went really well. I’m doing 50 States on Saturday, so that will be fun!

Every century is a challenge to me, so I guess this will just add a new element. I’ll take it over torrential rain… I think. 😎

Thanks Bob! I’m doing 50 States too! I didn’t know they’d be a week apart when I signed up for IH100, but I guess I’ll just have to to my best to recover in the intervening 4 days. 50 States is not to be missed!

I didn’t sign up so I won’t wear my Bike Arlington jersey and I won’t eat any of their food. If you see me you can pretend you don’t know me.

Don’t the registration fees for organized rides also cover the road closures and have some liability (hence waiver) and country/city permit implications?

Even if I don’t see you, can I still pretend I don’t know you?

I don’t believe there will be any road closures. I won’t hold anyone liable. Permits? Yes I suppose. I’m not asking for anyone’s approval and I understand why some might condemn my actions.

Yeah, I don’t know why you wouldn’t just pay the registration fee if you want to benefit from all the work (permits, etc.) that the organizers have put into the event.

Because they wont let you. They declared the ride full and thus would not take my money.

The few supported rides I have done – the $$$ goes for the food and the pit stops and the organizations. The roads, trails, parks… remain open to all and one can ride the routes freely.

Of course they want to limit the number of riders for crowd control et al. But there is very little they can do about it if you just show up and ride public roads and trails.
