The Hains Point 100 is set for December 18th this year. Funds raised support WABA’s Women & Bicycles Program. Hope to see lots of you guys out there again this year.

ParticipantI will attempt this, what’s it gonna be, a 120ish mile day? I hope the weather is nice. May need to bring a Crown Royal brand toe warmer.

ParticipantMaybe it’ll be like 2013 and we’ll all be in shorts

ParticipantI’m so bummed that I’ll be out of town and will miss this very fun event this year. Will make a contribution though and that makes me feel better.

Shorts would be nice since I’m going to try to do a full 100 this year.

ParticipantFeck, that’s like (counts fingers) 32 laps or something. Better to hope for no wind.

ParticipantIt looks like Dirt is proposing to start the 100 miles of riding just a tad earlier (like around midnight) like he did last year.

ParticipantI am seriously considering this. Looks like it’s not really a race but just some folks riding around in circles. My tolerance for racing in the middle of bunches of bikes has grown less as I’ve become older and discovered that falling now hurts.

It is a great event and the bunches become very small (or possibly the peloton extends to 3.2 miles). Having ridden it a couple of times, it thins out to be pretty much riding with a couple of friends.
Great cause and a fine time.

ParticipantI did a lap with my then 5 and 7 year olds last year. It is most definitely not a race.

ParticipantK. I’m in as long as it isn’t nixed by significant other. Looks like a good way to move up a bit toward 5,000 a year from the 4,500 I always seem to end up around.

Do it, Husker! You can ride as many or as few laps as you like. There’s coffee and snacks provided and also a bunch of quality raffle prizes.
There was a group of speedsters last year but it was mostly solo riders or folks in small groups. I rode side by side with a friend last year without issue except for Steve O being all slow and in the way for the lap he did on a unicycle.

Yup, I’m planning on it, just emailed the girl and haven’t heard no yet so I’m assuming it’s okay.
Although the day I start following the recommendations of someone who rides 9,000 miles a year is the day I etc.

The individuals I have bamboozled into riding centuries, out of state adventures and riding way more miles than in previous years are all mostly happy to have been bamboozled.
