6340 for the year. No set goal at the start other than ride the bike whenever it lent itself. Lots of commutes and some good solo and small group rides. In 2015 I want to look into more weekend group rides to interesting places with interesting people.

I do not know how much I actually biked in 2014. A lot less than most folks here I guess. OTOH in the time from when I got started on Strava on December 10th to the end of the year, I biked 132 miles. And I know I forgot to Strava one 10 mile commute ride, and a couple of miles in NYC. So I rode almost 145 miles in those 20 days. Which for me, for December, makes me feel really good. I suppose I would like to keep riding about 200 miles a month. That would be about 10 complete commutes a month or, more likely through the winter, 7 complete commutes a month plus about 15 miles a week of errands/recreation rides/FS inspired sleaze rides.

Not less than me. I rode zero times in December, once in November (for just 4 or 5 miles), maybe once or twice in October (less than 6 miles total), and a 25-mile ride in September. I didn’t ride that much in August either.

But now that I may have fixed my quad issues (by breaking up scar tissue), I think I’m ready to get back to regular cycling again. I don’t have annual mileage goals and I won’t have one for this year. My overall approach is just to “ride lots” in early season base training, add more intensity in the spring and summer, and bike-commute as I see fit. When I’m feeling good, I bike-commute a fair amount, but not every day, and not necessarily in both directions. (With Capital Bikeshare, I can ride one way, and take Metro back, or vice versa.)

Looks like I averaged about 170 miles a week overall in 2014. 150 or so in winter and 200+ in some summer months. Going to try to cross-train more in 2015 (same resolution I failed in 2014).

I did not have an actual goal, but I ended up with 8300 miles, and 27 rides that were 100-mile +. My longest ride was 118 miles with 11K of climbing.

I bought a new place in the Shenandoah Valley near Lexington this summer, so most of the miles were near there on exploratory rides. What an amazing place to ride. I’m really looking forward to spring when I’ll mostly know where I’m going :)

I finished with just over 4800 miles, so I think this year’s goal will be 5000 miles. And maybe ride a century for the first time this century.

Unfortunately, I didn’t meet my mileage goal this year. I passed the 4600 mile mark, but I was off the bike a few weeks on injured reserve back in May. However, I did ride that century.

No mileage goal. I want to ride consistently but without burning out (mentally or physically). My guess is close to this year’s 4900, maybe a bit less through the winter (sorry freezing saddles teammates) to have more time and energy to get myself back into somewhat consistent strength training. But whatever it turns out to be it will be.

Rode consistently, enjoyed myself, did not burn out, ended the year at 5290 miles. Did NOT get back to regular strength training, though I did at least manage yoga semi-regularly through the year. 2015 for sure!

    Goals:

Ride through the winter. (yes again, but hate the cold, so need the goal)

done. Had a really good Freezing Saddles season last year.;)

Get better at hills. Up them and down them. (got some better this year, want to get more better next year)

    ugh :mad::mad: 😡
    2015, definitely for sure!!

(this *will* make me climb better, right?)

Find some cross bike type terrain to ride the new cross bike on.

Have done some of this, plan to do more of it. Overall, moderately successful.

Get enough faster and stronger to (continue to?) hold my own riding with the significant other. This one is doomed to certain failure,** but why let that stop me from declaring that I’m going to do it?

    drafting, ftw!

Maybe some group rides or a century or something else new.

Part of the NOVA Epic (also meets cross bike goals), Indian Head century, a couple Spokes shop rides. Enjoyed them, will do more next year. Unfortunately, this has only reinforced that I really do need to improve my climbing if I want to ride regularly with other people, otherwise it’s just frustrating for all involved.
