Given that I rode 3200 miles in 2012 and will finish with 4300 miles in 2013, it would follow that my expectation for 2014 should be 5400 miles. That said, I will aim for 4500 miles, but 5000 miles would be a special goal for me for mileage.
At the end of the day on June 30, my mileage is at 2,452 miles, so I’m well on track to reach my goal of 4,500 miles, and my special goal of 5,000 miles still in reach.
Good news: after checking things out, June 30 is actually only the 181st day of the year and not the halfway point (181 * 2 = 362 which is 3 less than 365), so that means we all will get 3 extra days to make up miles!
In addition to my mileage goal, during spring I came up with a new goal for the year: to do the 100 mile ride for the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Festival. It takes place on July 26 and is very hilly. I have only done the 50 mile ride a few times, so this is going to be the hardest bike ride I’ve ever attempted, but I will do my best. Here’s hoping that my goals will be achieved!

I’ve done this one 3 or 4 times. Haven’t decided on this one yet. You should do fine, with your mileage and your previous experience. There’s a really nice long 1-2% downhill stretch that goes on for several miles into Fulks Run, that is my favorite part of that ride. Good luck!

I haven’t even thought about goals mainly because I never keep good track of them year-round. So maybe I’ll make my goal to burn through two sets of tires by year end.
With two weeks to go–goal technically accomplished by pursuing N+1; however, I really only burned through on set of tires
.
I didn’t set a milage goal, but I know I’m over 4,000 a little bit, which far exceeds previous year’s totals. So that’s something.

I am looking to do more to justify my title as MORE Fort DuPont Coordinator. Four rides and one work session last year were not enough. The plan is two rides per month and and three work sessions.

I beat this easily on the rides, having them every week over the summer. Failed on having any work/cleanup sessions.

My wife was joking last night that if I promise to take the kids to and from camp every day for six weeks this summer, then I can get both the kid-carrying cargo bike I want AND a fixed gear that I also want. I’m pretty sure she was joking. Maybe I should go find out if she was joking…
Well, I had no specific mileage goals, but I DID get the cargo bike and I DID get the fixed gear. The cargo bike we got in mid-June and it has 1150 miles on it. Strava says 875 of those are mine, plus some more that I didn’t Strava. Starting early September my wife started doing two days of school drop off/pick up with it. I have about 1800 miles on my main commuter and 220 on the fixed gear (purchased in October). I probably have another 200 miles on rented bikes (summer vacation, century in CA, CaBi). So 3100 miles, more or less. I did maybe 2500 last year.
I’m pretty happy with the mileage, though I’m more happy that this was the year we really switched over to bikes being our main form of transportation.

ParticipantI set a not-so-lofty goal of 3,500 miles for the year. As of now, I’m at 3,547.6 on Strava, and I’ve got more to upload and a few commutes next week. IOW, goal reached.
My other goal was to get out on the on the C&O again and do at least an overnight bike camping trip . I failed in that endeavor, but it’s on the radar screen for 2015, that and possibly the complete GAP-C&O route from PGH to DC!

ParticipantMy goal for 2014 was to bike 5,000 miles. My final total: 5,115 miles biked!

ParticipantMy 2014 goal was 3500 miles and Strava says that I’m at 3839 miles on the year, so all is good. But I’m going to push for 4500 miles in 2015 and to do more local, shorter rides, instead of using my car.

Participant4750 miles since the beginning of May, which is when I started keeping track. That works out to just under 600 miles per month. I’ll take that as a goal for 2015.

…my minimum goal will be to keep my current level of activity through the new year, so that would put me at 3500 mi for a nice round figure (3600 based on Nov and Dec alone). If I can push that to 4000, I’ll be really pleased, but I will also need to write my dissertation sometime in there, and I will only be able to justify extra riding after the doctorate is done.
Mileage: check! (5608.6)
Dissertation: …yeah…not so much (only half my proposal and 15 pages of text complete)I also promised myself I wouldn’t build up my fixie until after my dissertation is done. Failed that, too, but I do have a fixie now!
(See below for a dislike from Rockford.
Likely.)

Just came up short of 5k this year, so my goal is 5k for next year.
I won’t be repeating the TdF trip this year, but I’m shooting for more climbing, though getting out to the mountains will be just as difficult next year as it was this year. I planned to ride Weather mountain at least 6-7 times, only made it once.
Two big goals: I do plan on riding Skyline drive over two days, southbound on a Saturday, and Northbound the next Sunday. And actually riding my bike and not walking up Coxey Brown Rd.
Well, I made 5,721 miles in ’14. Climed 82k more feet than last year, and the Skyline Double was awesome. Though I rode out near Coxey Brown (on the Civil War century), I did not get a chance to challenge it in ’14. And because I drove the G37 less than the Synapse, the G was traded in two weeks ago for a vehicle that could better haul the Synapse around (and has an automatic transmission so my wife can also drive it).
