I’m riding the 50 (which is actually 52 so maybe I have your miles) but from Williamsburg not Richmond. I’ll keep at lookout for you at the two rest stops where we might overlap.

My wife and father-in-law are doing the half-century, and I’ve signed up for the century. I was pretty annoyed that the route is only 98 miles, so I made some minor modifications to get it to 102 miles, without going too far off the route or interfering with any of the rest stops. Route deviation is at mile 30:

Since I’ll be riding solo, I’m happy to ride with others…but I’ll be riding my fixed gear (unless it’s forecast to be super windy), so I’m not sure what my pace is going to be like.

I’ll be doing the 100-ish ride starting at Williamsburg. Based on prevailing wind patterns (and my actual past experience with this ride) there’s a good chance of a sweet tailwind all the way back from Richmond :)

I’m an early-bird, so I’m just going to drive down on the morning of. I have plenty of room in my Honda Element if anybody needs a ride.

If anyone is doing the 50 from Richmond, I would love some company riding with my father. Particularly if you’re interested in a nice, leisurely pace filled with conversation about various topics ranging from my grandfathers latest hospital stay to my brother’s marriage…

    Yeah… Join us?

My ride to and from the start should add about eight to ten miles, more than enough to get me over the century mark. Now all I have to do is may those pesky hotel reservations.

It was great riding the full distance with TwoWheelsDC (who rode it on a fixie). Pairing with him kept me on a more even pace, that was faster than what I would have done solo. We saw KayakCyndi going in the opposite direction at 9:30 (our mile 34).
