2012 Bianchi Volpe, Asking $750 OBO

Perfect for getting into CX or just as a day-to-day commuter. Tiagra 10spd shifters and derailleurs, FSA triple crank (48/39/30), 10sp 105 cassette (11-28) has maybe 200 miles on it, as do the Specialized Captain CX Pro tires. Brakes are brand new, never ridden, Avid Shorty 4s, and I’m including an in-the-box pair of Kool-Stop salmon pads. Bar tape (Fizik Microtex) and brake cables are new too. Shimano A530 pedals included.

I bought this bike new from Capitol Hill bikes and used it mainly for commuting. Mechanically, the bike is great, but the paint has some grease spots and a couple of dings to add character. Never wrecked or been in any accidents.

My first real road bike was a Bianchi that I bought back in the mid-80’s…I loved that bike, and to date, that bike probably fit me better than any bike I’ve ever owned. I forget the model…I wish I had some spare change so I could talk to you about your Volpe.

If our friendship means that much to you, you could always buy me a San Jose frameset

And although it won’t assuage your grief, the Bianchi will be replaced by another Italian…

Ah, it’s still the closest thing I have to a dream bike (I’d get the disc version though, and yeah probably stick with a Shimano groupset too). I say “closest thing” because I always have multiple bikes I’m interested in, and even I owned one I’d still have a list.

Doesn’t help that Lars Boom rode his to victory in Stage 5. I’m usually pretty skeptical of bike manufacturer marketing but for some reason all the countervail stuff leaves me wanting to ride one.
