This site suggests the bike weighed 32 pounds, 59 pounds loaded.

Photographs suggests that the bike was not fixed gear, but instead single speed with coaster brake.

Even with a 32-lb bike, or 59 lbs loaded, 1900 miles in 41 days, on a single-speed bike, is still quite a trek.
