    Okay, I’ll ask, what was our local bike advocate doing in Japan? Who would have responded to the “bat-signal” when you were away?

    Just taking advantage of the holiday to visit some friends. I rode a bike that was seven sizes to small all over Kyoto, and was blown away by all the family biking done by women on fancy e-bikes in Tokyo. I even got to ride the Bikeshare system in Toronto on the way back: https://twitter.com/timkelleydotnet/status/540570713296760832

    Was there an ebike company that dominated? What were the big ebike brands?

    Some Mom’s even had another seat on the front too.

    Did you see anyone actually pedaling one of them though? I’m guessing the moms basically use them with electric assist all the time.

    Come to think of it, I actually don’t think I saw anyone using them as electric mopeds. Everyone I saw was using them as pedal assist.
