#Coffeeneuring Ride to Proteus – Saturday, Nov. 13

#coffeeneuring2021 is underway, and it’s always fun to ride with friends to get coffee. Every year I seek out coffee shops where I have never coffeeneured before. One of those is Proteus Bikes’ new coffee bar, which I have been wanting to bike to for a while. Saturday’s the day!

I would love to have any interested friends join me on the ride. You may join the ride at the start, along the way, or just meet us at Proteus for a beverage and cheerful conversation.

Place: Crystal City Waterpark
Intermediate stops:

• 9: 10 – New S Capitol Street bridge (downstream sidepath)
• 9:30 – Anacostia trail at Benning Road underpass
• 9:50 / 10:00 – Bladensburg Waterfront Park
• 10:30 / 10:50 – Proteus Bikes

Note that the total round trip from Crystal City is approximately 40 miles. If this exceeds your ambition, you are encouraged to use Metro for part of the ride. We will pass close to some Metro stations on the return.

I will post a route on this thread in the next day or two. In general we will ride up mostly on the Anacostia River trail network and back through the city and MBT.
