    Anyone doing this? Looks like the three-day and three-day VIP routes still have slots open Oct 2-4.

    I’m doing the three-day camping with a pair of friends doing the Fri-Sat and staying in a hotel.

    Planning on the longer routes, I don’t have any centuries on the calendar yet so this will be a good way to wrap up the year.

    I did it this past year, it’s a very well run ride. The only thing I’ll caution on doing the longest routes is to pay attention to the time while at the distilleries.

    We did the long route on the first day and while we didn’t think we spent too long at Buffalo Trace, but when we left we realized we had… We made the decision to still stop at all the other distilleries that day, but because of that, we didn’t return to base camp until almost 8pm and as a result didn’t have much time to shower and still make the provided dinner and base camp tasting.

    The next day we did the route to Four Rose’s and then drove out to Wild Turkey.

    That’s some sage advice, and something I would not have thought of. A feeling of being rushed can really set back the weekend.

    Still waiting to see how they handle the routes this year, looks like they’re retooling them a bit to let the shorter distances hit some more distilleries but we’ll see. Depending on how they do that it’ll make game time decisions a bit easier to make if a shorter route still has a lot of the same benefits.

    I’m doing this again for the 3rd year. It’s awesome. And you can do whatever ride you want because the sherpa’s will pick up whatever bourbon you ordered. It’s gotten more expensive but the distilleries are great and it’s well done.
