The Friends of Dyke Marsh are hosting an event called Raptor Rapture. They’ll have live raptors to see up close. I’m planning on going since I see all kinds of raptors on the Potomac and 4MR all the time and don’t know the name of any of them. There’s also at least one active eagle nest in Dyke Marsh right now so hopefully we’ll be treated to an eagle flyby.
I’m planning on stopping for a doughnut and coffee at Sugar Shack in Old town (804 N Henry St, Alexandria, VA 22314) at 9 a.m. before heading over.
From the Friends of Dyke Marsh:
April 20, Raptor Rapture, The Friends of Dyke Marsh, Secret Gardens Birds and Bees, the National Park Service and the Monarch Teachers Network will “host” live raptors, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Belle Haven Park. You can see big birds up close. Free
Hope to see you there.

Big bird and velociraptors! This sounds like an amazing excursion!
