Looking for a route from College Park to Noma/Gallaudet

Good afternoon all! I was referred here by a nice gentleman from Reddit. I’m fairly new to biking and am looking to change that. My office will be moving from downtown to right next to the Noma/Gallaudet metro and is now close enough to home for me to start biking in. I’m looking for a decent route. I was thinking of taking the Anacostia River Trail down to the bridge at Benning Rd but was a little lost after that. Another user suggested cutting across to the MBT, but I’m not seeing any good way to do that, unless I go down Rhode Island Ave. I’d REALLY prefer not to bike RI Ave, its hideously bad.

Is there a decent way to get into the Gallaudet area without riding on major roads? I’d prefer a bike path but I don’t see anything.

Hi. Don’t take Rhode Island. It’s a sewer of awfulness.

I take ART to Benning Road to get to work. And I take the MBT to get home.

You can see a good way to get to NOMA from our area without much traffic.

If you want to take the ART, it’s beautiful and very flat, but a bit longer. I take that way in the morning: https://www.strava.com/activities/1547860238
To get to NOMA, you’d want to take D street maybe instead of East Cap, or just cut north on 6th street from East Cap and then back west on L to NOMA. Those roads are pretty good, even in rush hour.
