ParticipantHi! I just requested to join Team 22 on Strava…
Rather than reintroduce myself, you can find my introduction here: http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?12637-Introduction&p=168545#post168545.
I have not been outside since Christmas Eve, largely due to having a severe cold, which turned into a bronchial infection. My wife threatened to divorce me if I rode while I was still keeping her awake from constant hacking, but she’s out of town so I’m riding this weekend.
I look forward to meeting other team members soon!

ParticipantHey I’m Jeanne (aka Streetsmarts ).
I now live in Petworth, and commute to Foggy Bottom almost daily. Last year was my first year really riding at all, but I did a lot, thanks to Virginia friends who introduced me to coffee club, long rides, and to Freezing Saddles last year.I like pie, cookies, coffee and social rides – a long ride for me is 20-25 miles.
Looking forward to meeting/riding with you all soon.
Oh , team name suggestion: Slippery Icicles (I have no idea where that came from)!!

https://www.strava.com/clubs/335194Our team is in 16th place out of 22.
A few facts about me:
–I’m a transportation cyclist. I’ve been riding for over a decade.
–I stand on my pedals thanks to many years of pulling a double trailer.
–I live with my two girls in Arlington, near East Falls Church.
–I am currently working for an NGO in Van Ness, DC.
–My field is environmental and occupational health.
–Childcare, eldercare, and boss-care mean that my schedule can be a bit challenging at times.
–If anyone ever wants to bribe me, my favorite food is avocado sushi. And my favorite drink is hot tea…by the bucketful.I’d love to hear about all of you. Please join the Strava Club and we can get to know each other, figure out a team name, and bounce around ideas for happy hours, rides, and so forth.
Looking forward!

ParticipantHi all,
Glad to be on the team and looking forward to meeting you all in person (hopefully soon)!
A little about myself:
– this is my second season competing in Freezing Saddles
– I live in Howard County MD but work at the Patent office in Alexandria so I spend a lot of my time on the bike in northern VA
– I’ve been pursuing a riding streak since Jan 1 2016 (742 straight days and counting) so I will be getting all those extra points for the team no matter what
– I race cyclocross in the fall and a little bit of road in the spring/summer with the local team NCVC
– I am currently riding the trainer a lot preparing for the upcoming road racing season but that won’t stop me from going out on training rides or casual/social rides on the weekendsAgain I look forward to meeting you all and at the very least chatting on the forum and seeing your rides on Strava!

ParticipantHowdy team 22,
I’m looking forward to extra motivation of being on a team to get me riding outside on the cold days this winter. Spent way too much time on trainer using Zwift last winter. A few things about me:
– First year doing Freezing Saddles
– Live in Vienna with wife, 3 kids and 3 dogs and work in IT at association in Arlington.
– I’ve been bike commuting into Ballston 3 or 4 days a week for last 14 years.
– Usually ride fixie when commuting but switch to XC or single-speed MTB for bad-weather winter riding and a road bike for longer weekend rides
– Do most rides solo and way too many miles on W&OD. I would be eager to connect with other Team 22 members for some group rides
– When not riding, my other hobbie/sport is ice hockey. I’m coach for Madison HS team.
– Always eager for tips on cycling gear. Especially interested right now in cold-weather foot gear. Have not come up with anything yet that will keep feet warm > 1 hr in single digit temps.I just joined the Team22 strava group so will hopefully show up on that shortly. Look forward to meeting all of you and encouraging each other on strava.
Go Team 22!
-Todd

ParticipantDear Teammates on 22:
(Curtis, Iain, John, Jessica, Laura, Neal, Nicole, William, Jeanne, Todd)
We’ve not yet heard from all of you.
Please be sure to check the posts in our Strava Clubhouse

This is the last chance to vote on the team name.
And we’ve got plans underway that could use everyone’s input.
Looking forward to meeting you – online or even better, in person! w&wJanuary 15, 2018 at 3:33 am #1081735wheelswings
ParticipantI’m pleased to announce that Team 22 may now be called the Titanium Geraniums. As y’all know, 22 is the atomic number for titanium, an element known for its strength and toughness. As for geraniums, they are described in the literature as a symbol of elegance and determination. Team 22 combines these many virtues. Tonight we are in 17th place, but that is only temporary.

ParticipantWhat a nerdy group!
But at least you’re in a group, Cynthia! I seem to be lost in the Matrix.
