Four years is good. I could be happy with that. The urban went after two or three years and the vis360+ died today after less than a year. The Taz lights are all still good.
One is none if you’re depending on your lights. When I was doing field work at night I carried 3. This was well before led technology came around. I only had to break out the sacred third light once. But it allowed us to fix two broken lights and keep working and not feel our way out of the woods that night. The other guy only had one… He would have been screwed.

ParticipantI have used three or four (or maybe even five) L&M lights and have had no problems with any of them.

ParticipantI’ve been happy with their customer service. Pretty happy with the lights too.
I had one break (snap off the mount) on me when my bike fell over. Not really their fault, but they happily replaced it. I have an Urban 800 now that I use on my handlebars.
I really hate the USB cover on their recent lights (maybe they redesigned it again?).
I’ve heard of the LM360 lights dying when getting wet. I don’t know if I’ve ridden with my helmet light in a downpour.
My main complaint is that they’re just round beams. I want to get a Specialized Flux with the shaped beam next time I buy a light: https://www.specialized.com/us/en/flux-elite-headlight/p/130954?color=220039-130954
I like the L&M360 for the helmet, though. That is a highly visible light.

ParticipantI agree with you on the round beam shape. Shining the light up in the air just annoys others. Not really an issue with helmet mount.
I might try one of the Raveman brand lights that uses lenses like the special ed light. http://a.co/cBDu3E1The vis360+ switch was what broke last night. Pretty sure they’ll replace it, but of course I took it apart. The rubber nub on the headlamp sticks down in the housing to a tiny chip board. The switch tab broke right off the rest of the board. The cord from the front to rear light is a point of weakness too. But it hasn’t failed yet and it’s something I could fix myself if it did. Overall I really like both lights on the helmet, just grab and go and supplement if you need more lights.

That Raven light looks great, thanks for sharing! I might get that as a backup/new-primary light.

I saw. *That* is what I am hoping to see more of from domestic vendors. A “proper low beam” for street and W&OD use that puts usable light on the road and not in oncoming riders’ eyes. The StVZO reference standard remains, from Busch+Muller (IXON Core): ,

ParticipantLight and motion went above and beyond for customer service. They sent me a 150 Dollar gift certificate and free shipping, even though I sent them my receipt showing I paid well under that for the light.
I’m thoroughly impressed.

ParticipantI have an URban 350 and it has worked well for CCT commuting over the last year. Pretty reasonable price for a decent light. I also recently bought an Urban 650 to have a backup. Maybe the third or fourth time I used it, the plastic tab piece that slips into the mount snapped off when it shouldn’t have. L&M didn’t have the exact replacement but sent me a code worth more than the 650 to purchase a replacement no questions asked. Free shipping too. Ended up with an Urban 700 — can’t ask for more than that.
As noted somewhere above, my only complaint is that the cover for the USB charging connector pops out too easily.
