    Realized that this should have its own thread, so here it is:

    I need to go to 3 Stars Brewery to drop off entries for a homebrew competition. I could drive, but that would be BORING. So, I plan to ride my bike there next Sunday, March 5, and add in stops to other breweries/brewpubs. I am thinking of the Public Option, Right Proper’s Brookland site, DC Brau and maybe Blue Jacket and/or New District. The start would be Best Buns in Shirlington at 10:30. Let me know if you are interested. I will work up a route. I will also offer to give as much beer nerd information as you would like.

    Don’t miss what will probably be Team Crazy Eight’s only social event!

    Sounds good but my limit is probably around 40 miles,so I might need to drop out early…

    IMPORTANT – I misread 3 Stars’ schedule. Thought they open at 11:00 but the beer isn’t served until noon. So the departure time for this ride from Best Buns will be 11:30. Still time to say you’re going! I will post a RidebyGPS route Saturday afternoon.

    Not a great beer drinker but I have to get a bit knowledgeable about the locations since I have a friend coming in who might like to check out a few places! I’m also bringing a friend too if that’s okay! Thanks for organizing!

    Can you confirm sequence? I realize speed could vary depending on who shows up, but I would be very interested to know when you are likely to be arriving at Public or Right Proper – on the off chance I have the day free, I might want to head out before you leave Best Buns (so I can take my own pace) but then ride with you in the wild lands up to 3 Stars. And I likely would be drinking at two places at most. But it sounds like you are heading straight from Best Buns to 3 Stars.

    Here is the itinerary: leave Best Buns at 11:30; 3 Stars; Hellbender (short ride); Right Proper Brookland; Public Option (short ride); back to Best Buns (or stop at Blue Jacket or Cap City or New District). The route to and from Best Buns is 30 miles, so with the stops I am hoping to do this in about 4 hours. This will be an urban ride so pick an appropriate bike. I might ride my Surly Long Haul Trucker with panniers (to carry my beer and maybe any beer I get along the way). Comfort with riding in some traffic would also be a good idea. Bring a lock. I’d also bring something to snack on because there may not be any food at the breweries until we get to The Public Option. Here is the route on Ride With GSP: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19280895

    Hoping to meet up with you at 3 Stars or Hellbender. According to Google Maps you should hit 3 Stars a little before 1pm?

    I’m gonna try to meet up with Lynn on her way to the ride start. I do have a beer question, though it’s probably not interesting enough to qualify for nerd status…..
    It looks like we can get tastes — I’m not sure what those are, but they sound good. I’ll be looking for something smaller than the usual pint– more like a quarter pints…. Idk if that’ll be possible, but you might, Steve….

    I wanna try everyone’s IPA! But I can drink 1-1.5 beers/day, tops (or pieces of bread — it’s a gluten thing) Not to mention it’d be interesting seeing me try to bike home after having had much more than that…. I bet there will be an easy way around this — the gluten thing might be a bit different, but the lightweight drunk thing must be common. I’ll bring snacks to share.

    Also, if you like IPA I might ask for your personal recommendations. (That’s not a beer nerd question either…. Maybe you could be convinced to tell us beer nerdly facts even if we can’t find the questions…..I’m curious now.)

    Fun ride! Thanks for hosting, Steve. All stops within 4 miles of my home, none that I’d visited before. :)
