    Strange…it was a very popular, and very well-run ride. Thinking about it now, the Sportsbackers folks were oddly silent about it during the RVA>DC ride. I can’t help but wonder if, now that the World Championships are over, the governments in the Richmond area are reverting back to not really caring about cycling. Or maybe Ukrops…er, Martin’s….pulled their support for whatever reason.

    I checked in with my Top Men from Sportsbackers and was told that Martin’s got bought out and pulled out sponsorship. In the meantime, Sportsbackers is focusing on the RVA2DC ride.

    Yeah, my son told me that several Martin’s stores are closing too.
