    It’s a steel frame. Just put the wider wheel in. There’s probably enough flex in the stays that you don’t need to cold press it.

    I have a Trek 620 with 126 mm spacing and just shoved a 8-speed 130 mm rear wheel in with no problems.

    Changing hubs is not a small feat.
    Of course you could try trolling ebay for a 26″ wheel built on 130 mm hubs.

    Ditto on just using the 135 hub in the 130-spaced frame. It will work just fine. little to no effort.

    However, I have done exactly what you propose. That is, to run a 130 OLD hub in a 135 OLD hub shell. it’s not tough, just a bit fiddly to get the cones set, i.e., to get the hub/rim centered in the frame. You’ll need either a wheel dishing tool or at the very least a decent truing stand. Most (older) 135 hubs can fit, but you’ll be removing a few washers between the cones and the outer locknuts. Trying to get the hub/rim centered in the frame using the frame will be frustrating.

    Another vote for “just use a 135mm hub”. I had a steel Poprad disc frame for several years that was originally 130mm; since disc 130mm hubs are hard to find I just used 135mm MTB hubs and it worked perfectly fine. I think that Surly even sets their disc frames at 132.5 so either spacing works. It isn’t hard to move steel stays 5mm.
