    The wiki format lends itself well to describing things that are relatively static, so a few other categories/pages that I think could be worth adding:

    List of local bike shops – could include brands they carry, location/hrs, etc.
    List of coffee shops
    List of local bike racing teams – Bikenetic, NCVC, etc.
    List of major bike rides/races – dates change year to year, but basic description doesn’t (DCCX, Reston Century, Air Force Ride, Kill Bill, Wednesday Night Crystal City races, etc.)

    I like the ideas! I will figure out a good format for showing some of those topics and add it in an update to the wiki.

    After working on various pages and figuring out different formats, I am pleased to announce that the Bike DC wiki http://bikedc.wikia.com/ now has over 50 pages! Trail information pages now have an info box to better display the information among other improvements, and forum dictionary entries each have a link to the earliest mention of the term.

    The main 2 sections are still the Forum Dictionary and Trail Information, but I am planning on adding the following in this order:

    1. Section for annually recurring bike rides and events
    2. Images and video links for the pages
    3. Section for bicycle advocacy group information
    4. Section for bike teams
    5. Section for bike shops
    6. more stuff

    If you want me to add a page to the forum dictionary or trail information sections of the wiki, please contact me. I can add it for you, or you can always add it yourself. I have already added pages based on requests from fellow forum users and am happy to add more.

    Also, if there is anything that is incorrect, please send me any corrections.

    While still a work in progress, I have made updates to the BikeDC wiki which can be found here: http://bikedc.wikia.com/

    Updates:

    • The wiki now contains over 75 pages!
    • Bike Events & Rides is a new section that will showcase annually recurring cycling events and rides around not just the VA/DC/MD area but also extending into WV/MD/DE/PA (within ~4 hour drive)
    • A future update will organize the events by month so users can find all events occurring in a particular month
    • The main page has gotten an organizational update to help users access each section of the site
    • The Trail Information page is now organized by state/district and county/quadrant to make finding trails in a particular area much easier
    • Pictures have been added to better represent the trails, dictionary entries, and events
    • Creation of a plan for future research and updates to the site

    I plan to do the following in June:

    • Create Local Bicycle Advisory Organizations section
    • Add supervisory jurisdictional information to trail pages
    • Add snow removal policy information to trail pages
    • Research local bike teams

    If you want to contribute anything (definitions, trail descriptions, photos, etc.) or provide feedback, please do so. My goal is to officially launch the wiki at the end of July, but there is still a lot of work left to be done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
