    Why should close calls be limited to encounters with motor vehicles?
    Why should they be limited to violations of the three foot law?

    Yes, close calls happen every day at the IoD that are violations of ROW, not 3-foot passing.

    Do you really want every close pass on the MVT, or every time someone almost falls because of some badly designed of maintained piece of infastructure?

    I suppose maybe we can assume people will only post really interesting or useful close calls. I dunno. I guess the idea is that things like that belong with our usual kvetching about road surfaces, trail hazards, and rude cyclists, and not really in with the incidents and accidents – while really dangerous things (like close calls with motor vehicles) do belong.
