ParticipantI can be at the monolith.
And it’s an hour gained (back) in the fall.

ParticipantI’m going to try to come to Columbia pike. It’s less out of the way that Rosslyn. I may not get there till 5:30 though. I need some reflective gear, so this sounds like fun

ParticipantAny time you can stop by to help out is perfect. Drop-in is just our style! And can definitely nab something for yourself, too!

ParticipantSounds like fun! I will probably swing by at least the Columbia Pike location for a bit, and maybe the Rosslyn one, too.

ParticipantI plan to be there, assuming I don’t get stuck at work.

ParticipantI’ll be at Columbia Pike.
Any chance we could have a small group go to the Shirlington area? I see several people on bikes along four mile run trail without lights at night, and they appear to work in Shirlington restaurants and businesses… they probably will be working while we’re out there distributing lights…October 22, 2015 at 4:11 pm #1039901ShawnoftheDread

ParticipantI’ll be at the W&OD/Columbia Pike one! It’s on my way home from work, so the convenience factor is very helpful
Something to consider: As this event has typically occurred on the north side of the intersection with a smaller group on the south side, I am concerned about space. The construction of the I-think-it’ll-be-super-awesome bicycle training mini-park is currently taking up the entire west side of the trail, and the east side is populated by trees and W&OD signs. Things could get tight if people start congregating at the pinch point, i.e. where the trail meets the sidewalk. I think there is more space on the south side, though.

ParticipantI’ve got a friend who has only recently taken up bicycling, and so is now getting into his first night cycling. I’m thinking about sending him to this. Do they have lights that would actually enable him to see on a dark trail, or is this basically blinkies to enable him to be seen?

ParticipantBlinkies

This.
In past years I have taken an extra 6-10 lights, which I then give to riders I encounter who have no lights. I always run out. It’s just part of the innumerable, invaluable services I provide.

ParticipantIn response to argyrocket, I’ve been talking with Annmarie and the Arlington PAL Ambassadors about doing an event in Shirlington. So stay tuned!
And certainly feel free to take lights to share, as others have mentioned. -
