It starts at the same time as the Transitway Community Meeting where they will present updates on the plan for Crystal Drive (Metroway, bike lane). You should get them to postpone their meeting.

WABA and BikeArlington did a great job with this. Newer riders were provided with lots of good safety, equipment and riding etiquette information by LCI instructors, and all enjoyed the easy night ride in great weather with good alternative routes shown and cool little known information provided about several points of interest. The ride was followed by a visit to the Tech Shop (open 24/7), where pizza, beer, water, swag/maps and info packages were waiting for us and a short video about the Tech Shop and some of its offerings was shown (this is a place where it seems like you can make almost anything, including bicycle-related things). A tour was offered, but I couldn’t stay so will have to do that another time. Free tours of this amazing facility are offered every day and evening on the hour. Even without having taken the tour, I highly recommend checking this place out. They also have lots of special events on their meetup page that members of the public can participate in without needing to become a member. (Rube Goldberg group projects, cocktail mixology nights, etc. ) In connection with the ride, I learned, among other things, that the fix-it station has a neat water bottle filler, that Bob and Edith’s Diner location is big, nice and just off Eads (not part of the program but a happy discovery) and where the alligators are (not telling, but my Strava track may offer a clue). Thanks WABA and BikeArlington for a great evening!
