This September, we’re auctioning an original Proteus build that was the personal bike of Proteus founding owner Larry Dean. The bike was donated by Larry’s brother John, who was also on Roland Ave. that day and witnessed the aftermath of the crash.
The bike is a custom steel frame built at Proteus with 50th anniversary Campagnolo components. Proceeds will go to the educational trust fund that was set up for Tom Palermo’s children.

Here’s how the silent auction will work:
The auction will begin on September 9th.
I will keep a tally of each day’s bids on this webpage: http://www.proteusbicycles.com/special-events/ . To bid, please send me an email at palermoauction@gmail.com . Please include your phone number and what time of day to call. If for some reason I don’t get back to you right away, please call the shop at 301 441 2928 during business hours.I’ll call all bidders as soon as possible after your bid to make initial contact. You can choose to have your bid posted under your name or anonymously. The bidding will close on Sunday, October 4th at 9pm Eastern Daylight Time. I will contact the winning bidder at that time, and we’ll figure out how you’ll ID your donation at the Palermo fund’s website or via the fund’s administrator at Molloy Investment. Once your donation is confirmed, we’ll make arrangements to deliver or send the bike to you.
