Something To Hold On To At Intersections (or "Lean On Me")

Does anyone else grab a sign or post at a stoplight, so they don’t have to take their foot off the pedal? The W&OD comes to mind here (in particular, the intersections in Shirlington and the crossings at Lee Hwy and Gallows). I usually grab one of the wobbly signs next to the trail in Shirlington or the stoplight poles elsewhere. It might be far down the list of “wants” for cyclists, but something like a tall U-rack placed next to the trail would be welcome. It could even incorporate signs directing cyclists to local bike shops, restaurants, etc.
Does anyone think this might encourage more riders to stop at lights since they wouldn’t have to click out?
Finally, I also saw this Copenhagen version of a hand hold and foot rest online.
