    Whether or not he follows through on his threat of moving to Kyiv, we will gather and drink and eat in his honor.

    Details:

    Thursday, June 11 – say around 5PM start
    Elephant & Castle – 900 19th St. NW (the one near Farragut – not the one near Metro Center)
    We have a section reserved for us near the bar.

    Feel free to bring a story or photo or card or Pointless Prize. Or just come. All welcome whether or not you even know consularrider. You’ll know others, and if you don’t, it’ll be a great chance to meet us.

    Well, given that I work in the building that houses the Elephant & Castle, I feel I should attend. Have not had the pleasure to meet Consular yet, but he sounds like a swell guy!

    Also, I like Ukraine and have spent a fair bit of time in the bits that have become… unfortunately, very “exciting” lately. So I can always provided useless and unwelcome advice (something I excel at)… :-)

    I liked the post and will be there for happy hour but I definitely dislike the reason for our gathering! Consularrider, as one of my usual partners in crime, should NOT be allowed to leave!

    My situation is nearly identical, as to the working near part, not having met Consular part and being a font of worthless advice part (but not the having an exciting life part). I feel compelled to stop by and join the party.

    I’m a no. Family conflict.

    Rootchopper – We’ll probably also do the usual Third Thursday at Cap City this month. I’ll post about that after this week’s event for Chris.

    Hey all you nearby-ians. Please educate us on bike parking.
    Any chance we could use your parking garage?
    Is it open for public use?
    Space for bikes?
    Still open to get them out late?

    So a couple months back consular tells me he’s leaving on the 16th. Therefore, happy hour on the 11th. Good. Mr. Steve O gets it all arranged.

    A little later he tells me he’s actually leaving a week later – but don’t change the happy hour, because he’ll be too “busy” to come on the 18th.

    Uh-huh. Then I see this post.

    I wonder how many happy hours he’s going to end up milking this imaginary Ukraine move into.
