Do you have any favorite bicycle poems? Or have you written any? It’s fun to compose them in your head while you’re out riding … just watch for cars, too! :+). Here are a few of my attempts (I wrote them as Freezing Saddles ride titles). Please feel free to share any you’ve written… or any favorite bike poems from other sources. Thx! w&w

I once was a Metro-Bus Queen,
I starred as a high-priced sardine.
But the cost and the wait
Didn’t make it so great.
Now I soar on my magic machine.Though boys might try rhyming objection.
I would argue on careful reflection.
There is little so great,
As a Friday night date,
With the bike of my loyal affection.acrostic B.I.K.E.
Bingeing on my own sweat.
Ignoring the speedbumps.
King-of-the-mountain (in my head, at least).
Ecstasy on wheels.Haikus
Door-to-door service,
Earth-kind simple luxury,
My freedom machine.Phones ring, tempers flare.
While my bike waits quietly.
For joyful ride home.Rhyme
Give me sleet and fog and blizzards.
Single digits will suffice.
In this badass time called winter.
I like everything but ice.Ode to Phoenix Bikes
Last week I had a jumping chain,
I thought it was the sand and grain.I brushed out all the grit and grime,
But still I had a real hard time.I’d slip that chain as drivers waited,
Down it skid – I’d cross belated. With each new day I began to fear,
Anything more than second gear.I lubed again, and then some more,
But still that chain would ‘hit the floor.’A trip to Phoenix saved the day,
Edoardo said I’d be okay.Chain, crank, cassette, derailleur too,
Even my saddle came back new!He slayed the sharks in my drivetrain,
And made my dragons kind and tame.My gratitude I don’t deny,
On this two-wheeled Porsche I’m flying high.
