I like to get new people out on rides. Is it “OK” to post unsupported “events” or groups rides here? I’m not looking for Bike Arlington, the Forum, or My self, to be responsible for liability.

We post notable shop rides on here occasionally, so far without objection. Most shop rides are guided by volunteers and don’t charge fees or provide support beyond maybe the guide bringing an extra tube and power bar. Seems to work OK.

That’s what the forum is for–to connect together all us people on bikes. Coffee clubs (and pancake clubs!) are unsupported events, as far as I can tell, and we’ve been posting them for a couple of years. And the various BAFS teams posted their team rides throughout the competition as well as in past years. By posting here you are providing a valuable service–giving more people more excuses to ride their bikes and meet new friends. Thanks.
Maybe Eric should state in advance that if you ride with him, there’s a good chance that at what you think is the end of a nice long ride, you’ll find yourself 3-states away, with no real way to get home other than riding back through 4 more states.

Yes Chris, this may be true, but I promise to leave no man behind (myself included). I still like a good social ride here and there

The four states you have to ride through to get home might include states of a geographic magnitude similar to Nevada, Utah, Colorado and possibly Kansas
