Today’s schedule meant taking Metro and having no time to ride until about 10pm. So I’m not riding, for the first time this year. I can’t shake the fear that I need to put in a couple miles for the team, that the BAFS season hasn’t really ended…

total opposite here – I’m glad to be back to my mostly weekly habit of “drive to work day” on Fridays… totally slacking.

I keep going to check the scoreboard to see where we are. Maybe we need to branch the site out and do a less intense thing year-round?

As a sign of how BAFS has changed me, I took a peek outside this morning, decided “eh, doesn’t look too bad”, then proceeded to bike to work. :)

Same team assignments? I think my fellow Octothorpes would not object! :-)

PS did everybody see what Kurt did? Yowsa!

    Can I “like” a “dislike”?

Driving to work today was *awesome*.

I never even had a twinge of longing to be on the bike. I am using Sunday’s race as an excuse for rest, though that excuse is not 100% compatible with the eating chips and drinking wine that is happening tonight.

I fought off a cold long enough to hit my 1400 mile target at the end of the day yesterday, but felt crappy enough to drive to work today. I honestly felt ashamed walking into the office, which is the dumbest thing ever, but after all those miserable winter days that I showed up on my bike and proved to my disbelieving coworkers that bikes are awesome, I felt like I was letting bikes down. :(

Nothing wrong with re-living former glories.

(Interesting to see how many more riders we have now!)

Next year: prizes based on historical data trends? (j/k)

Seriously, some of the metrics are really cool though. The only site with some similarly cool functionality is veloviewer.com which is no longer free.

I climbed 2,582 feet yesterday to help Rule 9 Velo get the gold for elevation gain, then rode laps at Hains Point, then biked back to Bethesda. So my “rest” today was “only” biking from Bethesda to Georgetown and back. The only problem was that I needed to pick up a box of copy paper on the way home, so I ended up hauling the trailer with me the whole way. And my schedule got a bit bollixed up, so I had to race up the CCT to reach Staples before it closed at 9:00. (I got there at 8:59.) Somehow, today just didn’t feel very restful!

Sorry I did not think anyone would notice I drove to work today. Told myself I had to take the first day of spring off the bike. Bike is ticked off about it too.

Black hills? PeteD and I are in the 5 & 4/5. Should be “fun”.
