    they can be cleaned pretty well with plain old rubbing alcohol. I’ve got a set on my commuter (SRAM Hudz) and the only thing that’s kinda weird about them is how soft and squishy they get during our 95+ degree summer days.

    I personally prefer the original versus the soft version. I used Hudz on my 7800, 6700, & 7900 shifters – LOVED them!

    I will add that the company has great customer service having contacted them several times.

    I used Simple Green to clean mine up.
