Hmm, what would you give for a 25 year old set of these (yes, with simple mag resistance unit) that haven’t been ridden in 18 years?

I have always kept them folded but I expect the main roller belt is due for replacement anyway, given its age. IIRC (these babies have been wrapped in a plastic bag for over a decade) I did put some skateboard deck friction tape on the top of the frame to make (dis)mounts a bit safer. Hate to sell them, but I would probably score points with my wife…

I’m interested in picking up a decent set of rollers so that I can ride indoors – is anyone thinking about upgrading or sell a set?

    Thanks!

I’ve still got these: http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?8103-Tacx-Rollers-for-Sale-Alexandria though they now have a new drive belt. Same price.

Ben, I think you found your bargain from KWL. Don’t sweat the resistance unit — it’s a better cadence workout with less resistance.

KWL, if Ben doesn’t buy your rollers I will take ’em! What do you mean the resistance unit is worthless — does it not work to add resistance?

Sold! I saw that post earlier, but thought they had already been taken. Thanks kwl!

I actually do have an old set of 3.5″ Performance rollers :-) What I want is to add resistance. Spinning is fine, but it doesn’t lend itself to interval training. But riding rollers is a lot nicer than the mag trainer.

I just meant I never saw the need for resistance on rollers, but I’ve never used them for intervals so I never hooked it up. Sounds like Ben wants them. I’ll let you know if the sale falls through.

Yeah, no problem! Ben, if you decide you don’t care about resistance you can sell me those and have mine for free :-)

Yes, I know most people don’t want the resistance on rollers, but if I am gonna get on the trainer it is gonna be for interval work or something that hurts a lot.

Hozn, I’ve had these for a few days and I think my wheelbase is too long for this set – my front wheel’s axle sits about a half inch in front of the center of the roller, which has allowed for some hilarious falls. Would you still be up for a trade? How long is the set you have?

Yeah, sure. Let me check my set. It has wheelbase length markings. (Do you know you wheelbase?)

Ben – If it doesn’t work out with Hozn just let me know. Money back guarantee and all that.

It looks like trading our rollers will work out well for both of us. (Thanks, KWL!)
