March 19th Group Rides?

I assume many will be doing Hanes loops late Thursday March 19th, but does anyone want to do something longer that day? I am planning to take the day off and ride most of the day. Would be happy to have some other join me.

Depending on weather, I was thinking something like out the WO&D, cross at White’s Ferry or Point of Rocks, then back via Dickerson, Darnesville, River …. and down to Hanes Point for a lap. Probably a long late lunch stop some place around Poolesville.

Depending on how things go at work the week before and that week, I may be able to take that day off for a long ride. I will need to make up some miles since the next couple of weeks are going to be fairly light for me.

I am still hoping do do this ride, but work is throwing monkey wrenches at me. I may not be able to take the 19th off because of a sliding schedule on a application release.

If work does not cause problems, my plan is still the same. Would want to start around 8:00 at the beginning of the WO&D by Shirlington Rd & S Four Mile Run Road. Could meet there or maybe Best Buns.

I have an 8:30 dental appointment in Clarendon that won’t finish before 9:30, so I guess I’m out. Also, with more rain on Saturday, I think I’ll skip riding on the C&O towpath for a while.

I’m interested to join you but do not have the bike necessary for riding on the muddy C&O canal. Any chance that we could stick to paved roads?

Based on how sick I have been this week, I strongly suspect I cannot do this ride at all. Very grumpy about that.

Decided this plan is off. My ride today showed there is no way I can handle a long ride Thursday. I am going to leave work at 3 or so and do a long ride showing up for the Hanes Point party loops.

Same here. The pi(e) ride on Saturday kicked my butt, so I am definitely not up for a super long ride. Laps at Haines Point are a go, though.
