    Here is the article link. The Post also reported a cyclist killed in Prince Georges County over the weekend. I won’t post my full rant here, but on the Gaithersburg incident, I’m really pissed at the Post for making so light of a heavy duty truck left crossing a vulnerable cyclist who was proceeding legally on a green light. It sounds like this cyclist was very experienced and comes shortly after an internet friend was killed in Oregon by a FedEx driver via a right hook crash. I’m not sure where I am going with this, but just reflecting on the issues.

    Here’s more on the cyclist killed in Gaithersburg, now reportedly because of a WSSC truck making a left turn. Seems like he worked in DC (Director at the National Center for Education Statistics?). Was he commuting to work?

    MCMedia report has video, pictures of his bike and the scene, and his name.

    Sad stories all around. Of course, not bike story seems complete w/o mention of whether the cyclist was wearing a helmet, even though there is no legal requirement to do so.

    Re: the Oregon incident, who was that? Was it someone from bikeforums? I used to be active there and remember a lot of the screen names. Wonder if I’m familiar with them, too.
