ParticipantI’ve seen one that is about that size on H Street NE not infrequently. Often around the Queen Vic / Granville Moore bike racks. So have hope! There’s at least one out there.
Great choice of bike btw. My wife has a Civia Loring and it’s a great town bike.

it is one of the few non custom bikes that can run drop bars with a belt, igh, and disc brakes. I talked to a few shops and no one could make that combination work without expensive custom built frames.

ParticipantSeems crazy. I assume you considered the Specialized AWOL, Surly Straggler, Spot Rallye. (I am sure there are others, but those were the few that leapt to mind.)

ParticipantWhy couldn’t you put drop bars on something like the Breezer Beltway Elite?

I have a disc trucker I use now and want to try a carbon belt

Compatibility issues with briftears when using the belt and disc with the igh is what I’m told from shops here and out west.

I didn’t know the Straggler dropouts could accommodate a belt. That is very interesting information, thank you!

The Soma Wolverine ought to work, non? Though maybe it’d still end up an expensive build.

Yeah, AFAIK the frames I mentioned all support belt drive. The Spot would come with it built up; the others may require building from frame.
If igh was tempting to me, I would probably do the Alfine11 with the Shimano di2+hydro brifters. I remain to be convinced on belt drive, as the only couple I have seen/ridden with were horribly creaky. That would drive me insane. I am sure technology has evolved, though, and newer setups are quiet.

Ummm … I thought it did, but I see upon closer inspection that I was wrong. Someone on the Google suggested it did and I didn’t verify. It does look like there are some mods, but that is probably a little more than OP is bargaining for.

See… brifters are the root of all evil…
You could always substitute the Versa brifter that the Bryant comes with or use a compatible bar end shifter and regular brake levers.

ParticipantCan someone explain the compatibility issue? ( I am just curious. )

ParticipantI think the pull distances between IGHs and a comparable-cog derailleur system are different. But what do I know? I’m just making this stuff up.

Buy why would the combination work with the Bryant and not other frames? Does the Bryant come with components not available anywhere else?

But could you just use the frame and build it up with similar components to the Civia or Spot (which seem to use brifters)?
