    Does Arlington get disqualified for not being an actual city?

    I say we set up some “Fronts” and then apply for BFB status. Can the FCCII be maybe a church or something? Maybe Frozen Saddles can be a high-end fashion bike saddle company. And Crazy Ivan’s can be a discount submarine store.

    FCCII is a church, we have critical mass every Friday. We break bread together, generally review so of the rules, definitely wear strange clothes, and discuss ways to convert our neighbors and coworkers.

    What counts as a “business”? Have you talked to folks in APS? Do churches count?

    There is some precedent for churches to receive recognition. I know of a few in the area that have an interest in bikes, but not sure if any of them do enough to really be considered for even the Bronze award.

    Arlington IS a city. It simply has a county form of government according to Virginia law.

    My workshop is in Fairfax, but the office address is in Rossyln, although it’s just my condo and I have no employees so doubtful The Proper Carpenter can qualify or help your cause. It’s shame though as I have bikes always in both locations and I ride to work 7 days a week.

    What if I have an LLC operating out of my home that owns and rents the house where my grandmother used to live? My home has secure bicycle storage, showers…

    I’d give it a shot at becoming a BFB. The fact that you ride to work 7 days a week suggests you might want to work on your employee friendly business program.
