I’m not saying she’s right or wrong (and definitely not in the same league as Gino Bartali), but I thought it was interesting that Kaci Hickox used a leisurely bike ride as a protest.

I’ll offer an opinion: Go Kaci!

Saw this post just as I was preparing to post it myself! I was thinking the exact same thing.

I can only think of all the people who talk about zero tolerance and complete quarantines with Ebola, but don’t seem to think that dangerous roads, reckless driving, and enforced car driving are problems. 90 people a day die from car drivers. Amazing how so many people think this isn’t a major problem.

Even more (indirect) connections with cycling in this story. The attorney for Kaci Hickox was involved in a shouting match when another gym-goer objected to the attorney’s presence at an Equinox gym in NYC. The other person wanted Equinox to ban the attorney from using the gym because of his representation and contact with Hickox.

Equinox and its corporate owner provided the funding for the recent purchase of Alta Bicycle Share, the company that operates Citi Bike bikeshare in NYC and several other bikeshare systems, including Capital Bikeshare.
