This is the sculpture on a table next to the desk in the ambassador’s office.

They did have additional programming, not just bikes. Heineken beer on tap, info about water policy, the military and household items from a 3D design contest. One of the items — a 3D printed bike bell.

Nice photos, especially that one of the bike sculpture (I want that) in the Dutch ambassador’s office!

I, too, was at the Dutch embassy today. I ended up talking with a woman about the advocacy that the Netherlands has done for cycling in various American cities which turned into talking about commuting by bike (hers is a 40 minute trip that avoids Tilden) since Bike to Work Day is coming up.

I’ll add some pics to the mix:

I believe I found a new cyclist food: poffertjes (similar to miniature pancakes), traditionally served with butter and powdered sugar on top – I could eat a million of these!
